Backrooms
Dissolving inner-architecture
I recently watched Backrooms and was inspired by its eerie concept of endless, uncanny spaces. This poem is my interpretation of that atmosphere.
Corridors of doors winding into jagged dead-ends, pretending to resemble parts of a life that makes sense. The memories flickering and filtered are off-kilter, the faces distorted, fraught with fear and laughter. Through the yellow haze of the subconscious, hoping for catharsis, instead confronted by Minotaurs and monsters wearing masks of darkness. The portals are windows into closed nightmares, where tears reside and shadows lament.

I like the way the Backrooms are not merely interpreted as a place of horror, but as an endless mechanism for the expansion of the same trauma - a place where everything branches outward like a growing tree, each corridor another extension of the original wound.
Atmospheric and interesting poem Suswati!
